What is the Measure Tool?

The Measure Tool lets you quickly measure distances on your drawing without creating a takeoff.

It’s mainly used for:

  • Checking dimensions

  • Verifying scale

  • Spot-checking plans before or during takeoffs

How it works

  1. Select the Measure Tool (M) from the toolbar

  2. Click two points on the drawing

  3. The distance will be displayed instantly

You can continue clicking to measure multiple segments if needed.

When should I use it?

Use the Measure Tool when you want to:

  • Confirm a known dimension (e.g., door width, wall height)

  • Verify your drawing scale is correct

  • Quickly check distances without creating quantities

Important notes

  • The Measure Tool does not create quantities or appear in the Quantities panel

  • It’s for reference only and does not affect your estimate

  • Make sure your drawing scale is set correctly for accurate results

This is your quick “sanity check” tool before and during takeoffs 👍
