You can measure a survey or plan-view drawing when it has a usable scale or known dimension.
Check the scale first
Upload and open the drawing. Review its detected scale, or set it from a known dimension. Use Check to compare a measured distance with a dimension printed on the plan before starting.
Choose a measurement tool
Area: lots, slabs, rooms, landscaping, and other surfaces.
Linear: boundaries, edges, walls, and runs.
Count: fixtures, symbols, or labels.
Click Finish or press Enter to complete an area or line. Name the measurement, set any required Properties, and review Quantities.
Use On this sheet
When TakeCost can read the drawing, On this sheet lists the wall types, doors, windows, or schedules it finds. Open an entry to inspect its details. Locate highlights matches on the plan; View schedule opens the schedule.
A wall entry can show its assembly and related architectural or structural details. Use reference sheets for sizes and connections, then measure from the appropriate plan.
These drawing-reading features are separate from AutoTake’s automatic elevation takeoffs. Review detected information and measurements against the actual drawings.
